Abstract
The history of comics in Kenya has followed a path informed by its own culture. However, there are still many similarities between the development of Kenyan comics and the developments elsewhere in the world, informed by the close interconnectedness of the artform, thematic concerns, artistic inspirations, artistic styles, forms and formats, terminologies and many other qualities that define comics. Along the way, these stories have not only entertained readers; they have been used for education, advocacy and much more. This presentation seeks to give some insights and a glimpse into this comic scene in Kenya.
