Abstract
Max Haberich’s thesis is about German-Jewish writers, more specifically the Austrian-Jewish writers Jakob Wassermann and Arthur Schnitzler. He compares to what extent they felt German, Austrian, and Jewish, and how they suffered from this dual identity, as well as from early anti-semitism.
