Abstract
This talk about the oscillations (and waves – briefly) induced by external random perturbation in nonlinear dissipative systems, such that they do not exist in noise-free systems. The noise can play a highly counter-intuitive role in such systems: with the increase of the amount of noise, the amount of order in the system grows. The associated phenomena are coherence resonance, stochastic resonance, and stochastic synchronization. The talk will discuss how such behaviour can be controlled by delayed feedback.
