Abstract
Professor Deanna Petherbridge will examine the cult of the ‘primitive’ body in Modernist art, inspired by a rejection of classicism, an admiration for exotic cultures and the Surrealist embrace of psychoanalysis and the irrational. In association with the mind-spirit-body-matter: drawn to the human workshop.
