Abstract
Parabolic reduction along the Borel subgroups B of a reductive group G gives rise to a family of defects in a topological twist of 4D N=2 super Yang Mills theory. We will see how this story manifests in skein theory. Our motivating application is the quantisation of a knot invariant called the A-polynomial, built from the moduli space of G-local systems on the knot’s complement, and conjectured to control the recursive properties of the colored Jones polynomial. This talk is based on joint work with David Jordan.
