Abstract
Atterberg limits are key parameters in geotechnical engineering, giving much valuable information on soil consistency and strength. Despite their simplicity they are generally poorly understood, leading to much erroneous discussion. This presentation will show how the mechanics of testing leads to a simple understanding of these limits’ relevance.
