Abstract
This talk is an introduction to structured learning, more specifically we focus on Structural SVMs (SSVMs). We introduce the concept of structure, then we present the SSVMS formulation, training algorithms and connection to other existing models. We then present two applications: parsing and word alignment.
If you don’t have time, read the last three papers and only skim through the first paper (“Cutting Plane, etc.”). I you have time to read only one paper, you can read “Support Vector Machine Learning for Interdependent and Structured Output Spaces”.
Series This talk is part of the Machine Learning Reading Group @ CUED series.
