Abstract

Peter Hinton Trained as an actor at Central School, performed for the National Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre and the RSC . During his work on King Lear (directed by Trevor Nunn – World Tour & West End, 2007), Peter set up a TV production company called 2act; inspired in style by the old British repertory theatre system, but with a focus on improvised performance. The Academy is his completed directorial debut, currently pitched to broadcasters as an hour’s TV “special”, starring Ian McKellen.

Sergio León A Chilean filmmaker by profession, Sergio completed a postgraduate degree in Film and Television at the University of Bristol in 1980 before working as an Independent Film and Television producer/writer in the UK. The majority of his work has been filming in Latin America for British Television or producing and co-producing programmes connected with that continent, and he has worked with the prestigious Chilean writer Isabel Allende. Since 2003, he has been director of the Cardiff, Bristol and London Latino Film Festivals.

Nick Humfrey After graduating from Cambridge in 2005, Nick interned and temped for a number of companies in London including New Line Cinema, Heyday Films, Blueprint and the UK Film Council. He then attempted to be a full time scriptwriter. Although he now has a day job, he has recently got his foot back into the industry when his short film ‘Conversationing’ received funding from Working Title and Film London. It was recently screened at the BFI . He is now working on a feature follow-up to the short.
