Abstract
During the October half-term, the University of Cambridge is running its annual Festival of Ideas. On Tuesday 26th October the Faculty of Education will be running a number of free sessions for children of all ages.
The event runs from 11am to 3pm in room GS5 , Donald McIntyre Building, 184 Hills Road, Cambridge CB2 8PQ .
Our sessions include:
How do babies think?
Have you ever wondered how babies think? Come and help us at the Infant Cognition Laboratory and find out. We’ll be talking to parents and babies from 0 to 12 months.
Reasoning and science learning
We’ve been studying how students’ reasoning abilities relate to their ability to learn about scientific ideas, especially those that involve stuff we can’t see (atoms, cells and other microscopic matter). Join us to try out one of our new computer tasks and/or to take part in an activity looking at how stuff dissolves in water INSTRUCT lab website: http://sites.google.com/site/instructlab/
The development of mathematical skills
Come and try our short computer games challenging all kinds of cognitive skills such as memory, attention, visual-spatial ability, mathematics and more.
