- đ¤ Speaker: Mr James Simpson
- đ Date & Time: Tuesday 09 November 2010, 19:00 - 20:00

Abstract
Mr James Simpson, a London-based surgeon, went out to volunteer in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti. Using pictures and anecdotes he will show us what it is actually like to work as an emergency surgeon in such a difficult environment. An opportunity to see some of the realities of disorganisation and hostility rather than the often romantic image of rushing to help, this will be a wonderful talk for all who watched the crisis in Haiti unfolding, and for anyone who has considered volunteering in the wake of disasters.
The talk is free for members and ÂŖ2 for non-members
