Abstract
Panel discussion:
What are the biggest healthcare problems facing developing countries? How can we use Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to contribute to solving these problems? How can ICTs improve healthcare in ways that are impactful, sustainable and scalable?
With experts on ICT for Health, including Professor Geoff Walsham (University of Cambridge, Judge Business School), Professor Ian Leslie (University of Cambridge, Computer Laboratory) and Dr Peter Gough (Khandel Light).
e-Health refers to the use of electronic processes and communication in healthcare. This includes health information and knowledge management systems, telemedicine, m-health (mobile health) and more. The growth of mobile and other forms of information technology offers significant potential, but also major challenges, for improving healthcare for the worldβs poor, who often bear the burden of high incidence of disease and the lack of healthcare resources.
