Abstract
Panel Discussion: How can we use mobile technology to improve education in developing countries? Which mobile technologies are most versatile and appropriate for interactive teaching in poorly resourced classrooms? What are the roles of NGOs, the private sector and research institutions in contributing to mobile education? From โM-Ubuntuโ to mobile phones for higher education and social inclusion, what can we learn from existing mobile education initiatives?
With experts on m-Education (mobile education), including: Dr Niall Winters (London Knowledge Lab, University of London); Dr Sacha DeVelle (Cambridge to Africa); Dr Sara Hennessy and Dr Bjoern Hassler ( Centre for Commonwealth Education, Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge); Dr Roger Mills, (University of Cambridge and Centre for Distance Education, University of London) and Geoff Stead (Tribal Group).
There will be networking opportunities after the panel discussion.
- This event is sponsored by Cambridge Education Services and co-hosted by the Humanitarian Centre and the Centre for Commonwealth Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. It is part of a themed year on ICT4D (ICT for Development) run by the Humanitarian Centre in partnership with ARM .
