Abstract
Fresh from taking their film ‘Life in a Day’ around the festival circuit, Kevin Macdonald (Director – Touching the Void, The Last King of Scotland) and Joe Walker (Editor – Hunger, Brighton Rock) will discuss how an editor and director work together. ‘Life in a Day’ is a fascinating project, shown to critical acclaim at Sundance and Berlinale recently. Using footage whittled down from 4,500 hours of YouTube submissions from across the world, the end result has made audiences both laugh and cry. A fantastic opportunity to hear from the creative forces behind this stunningly original and experimental project, while learning about the nuts and bolts of filmmaking.
