Abstract
We plan to provide an overview of a couple of wireless technologies for P2P communication, that are currently being researched in Qualcomm.
One is called Peanut: Personal/Body Area Network System Solution- Ultra Low Active Power
- 15m Line-of-Sight range
- 8GHz Operation
- High Data Rates
- Distance between any two nodes measured with sub-10cm accuracy
- Multiple pairs of nodes can measure distance simultaneously
- OFDM -based air interface
- 5MHz bandwidth (current design)
- Range of several hundred meters
- Utilizes unpaired (licensed) spectrum
- Synchronous system
- Efficient Procedures for Discovery and Device-2-Device Communication
- Direct communication at max 3 bits/sec/Hz
