Development of leaf venation in C3 and C4 species

Abstract
Plant species using C4 photosynthesis typically exhibit Kranz anatomy and increased vein density compared with C3 species. I am using several species pairs of closely related C3 and C4 species, sampled from across the phylogenetic tree, to compare and understand the development of leaf venation.
