Abstract
An important problem in algebraic number theory is to find the ring of integers of a number field. One can associate a finite abelian group to an order in such a number field using the trace map. It turns out that under certain circumstances there is a direct formula for the ring of integers in terms of the structure of this group. During the talk we would like to explain why this is true and give some results and examples.
