Abstract
Nanoparticles are the essential building blocks for nano-composites, nano-sytems and nano-devices as well as for advanced drug delivery. Although there are many methods developed for syntheses of nanoparticles, nanoparticles engineering technology is still in challenging demand. In this talk, Professor Chen discusses the engineering fundamentals (e.g. the micromixing, the nucleation and crystal growth) and their interactions affecting the nanoparticles quality (PSD and Morphology) and the process scale-up. He also proposes the reactor design conception theory and conclude that the design and massive production of nano-particles with tailed function will play a key role in the Nanotechnology, especially in area of advanced nanocomposites, drug delivery system and solar cell.
