Abstract
Erebus volcano, Antarctica, the southernmost active volcano in the world, has numerous features that make it an intriguing natural laboratory for volcanologists, biochemists, physicists, geomorphologists, and more. My fieldwork at Erebus volcano and my work with the Mount Erebus Volcano Observatory (MEVO) and United States Antarctic Program (USAP) have provided me with an in depth look at all of the science that goes on there—and how exactly that science gets done. Come learn how field work is done in the coldest, driest, windiest place on Earth: Antarctica.
