Abstract
It has been argued that the generalised Kac-Moody algebras E11 and E10 encode the symmetries of M-theory. One may wonder whether a conjecture relating two imperfectly understood constructions can be put to good use. This talk will be a pedagogical introduction to a technique on the Kac-Moody side that reconstructs well-known supergravity solutions, albeit smeared down to one-dimension. The solutions emerge from a small corner of E11 but the technique may be applied to a much larger sector of E11 and used to propose exotic M-theory solutions.
