Cambridge University Russian Society continues its famous tradition of organising talks with the most distinguished public figures of Russia. This time we are proud to bring to your attention a talk by a high level expert of martial arts, Orthodox Christian, as he defines himself, Andrey Kochergin THIS COMING FRIDAY , 10th February.

ABOUT ANDREY KOCHERGIN
Andrey Kochergin (http://www.koicombat.org/) is a founder and ideological inspirer of Russian karate school “Koi no takinobori ryu”. Koi no takinobori ryu is a modern direction of the full-contact karate which uses a wide arsenal of technical and tactical techniques for victory. The basic difference from traditional karate schools is in the original, extremely rigid methods of training which are used for the full realisation of one’s individual abilities.
As a writer, Kochergin achieved success after publishing a number of books about manliness, bravery, behavior in extreme situations, such as “Абсолютная беспощадность… к себе”, “Как закалялась сталь 2 и 0.5“ and the most famous “Мужик с топором“. The latter became the bestselling book in Russia in 2010.
In particular, Andrey Kochergin is renowned for his seminars and master classes on self-defence and applied psychology. Andrey Kochergin is Orthodox Christian. He actively expresses his religious views.
