Abstract
Consider a general 2 → 2 scattering process. The high energy limit or Regge limit is given when the center of mass energy of the system is asymptotically larger than any of the other scale involved. In this regime large logarithms of energy appear dominating the scattering amplitude and they need to be resummed to all orders in perturbation theory. Such a resummation is achieved by the so-called BFKL evolution equation and the system is governed by the Multi-Regge kinematics (MRK), in which strong ordering in rapidity is imposed between consecutive gluon emissions. We review the theory of strong interactions in the high energy limit and present some phenomenological processes of interest within this context.
