Abstract
The Documentary Method as an instrument for text interpretation and data analysis is one of the most sophisticated methods of qualitative research in Germany. By attending the Documentary Method workshop you will get a first impression about the stance, subject and interpretation process of the method. The workshop will start with a brief overview about qualitative inquiry in Germany followed by a description of the central principles and steps of the Documentary Method. In the second part of the workshop we will spend most of the time practising actual text interpretation. As preparation you are required to read two introductory articles about the documentary method and workshop material which consists of a transcribed peer group discussion of seven girls from an International School. This is Part 2 of the workshop. A commitment to attend both parts of the Documentary Method workshop is required for securing a place.
