Abstract
Jim Smith, Ph.D., FRS , FMedSci, (MRC National Institute for Medical Research, London) is a developmental biologist and Director of the MRC National Institute for Medical Research in London. Prior to that, he was the John Humphrey Plummer Professor of Developmental Biology, and member of the Zoology Department in Cambridge. Jim studies the molecular basis of mesoderm formation in vertebrate embryogenesis.
