Abstract
‘Molecular’ in grain, natural materials such as minerals, fossils and rocks offer huge potential in the burgeoning field of surface design. Digital scans of such materials are the basis of Weston Earth Images Ltd, which produces fashion and design goods for leading ‘high end’ stores worldwide as well as ‘bespoke’ architectural and interior design products. In this seminar, Richard will reflect on the revolutionary potential of digital means of production and discuss the ideas behind both his ‘Container of Curiosities’ popup exhibition and forthcoming book Transformations.
