Abstract

During data analysis, we as PhD students are often busy coding, analysing, categorizing and translating quotations that we are not aware of our own learning. This presentation is a reflection on the “Data Analysis Journey” in which I would like to share some important points I have learned through my data analysis.

The main important thing I have learned is how to present my research findings. Wolcott (1994) suggests that qualitative researchers need to be storytellers. I would like you to sit comfortably and listen to a story about school reform implementation in Qatar. In 2001, Qatar began a comprehensive education reform (Education for a New Era) based on RAND ’s recommendations for building an educational system that would meet the country’s changing needs. This qualitative study focuses on exploring how school leaders’ perceive the reform. The initial findings reveal the challenges that they face in implementing the change and how they respond to them.
