Abstract
I will discuss the backreaction of anti-D3 branes in geometries with D3 brane charge dissolved in fluxes, and I will show that these solutions must have a certain singularity in the infrared. Since singular solutions must normally be discarded unless there is a compelling physical reason to accept the singularity, I will discuss possible mechanisms for its resolutions, and show that none work. If this singularity is not physical this will imply that the mechanism for uplifting AdS vacua (which are ubiquitous in flux compactifications of string theory) to dS vacua by placing antibranes does not work, and hence string theory does not have a landscape of dS vacua.
