Abstract
In this talk, and her recent book, Ffion Hague will examine the women in Lloyd George’s life and the complicated and intertwined relationships that sustained him. Ffion’s book, ‘The Pain and the Privilege’ was published by Harper Collins in 2009 and The Times described it as, ‘A riveting narrative examination of the dynamic between a man, his mistress, his wife and his daughter…a fascinating story.’
A former fast track civil servant and a native Welsh speaker, Ffion Hague is the wife of Foreign Secretary William Hague, she is also a significant author and businesswoman in her own right. Having run a headhunting firm, Ffion now focuses on boardroom evaluation – often asking why there’s an all-male board when the business employs and sells to women. She is also involved in several charities including being on the board of the Outward Bounds Trust.
