Learning from the Mistakes of Others…
- 👤 Speaker: Professor David J Elton Ph.D., P.E., S.M., F. ASCE, Civil Engineering Department, Auburn University, USA
- 📅 Date & Time: Thursday 07 March 2013, 16:00 - 17:30
- 📍 Venue: Engineering Department - Lecture Room 4
Abstract
Civil Engineers learn much more from failures than from successes. Several notable geotechnical failures, and some minor ones, none of which are the speaker’s, are presented. All could have been avoided with the then-current technology. All are given with an eye towards avoiding replication. The seminar will be followed by a Taste of Soils Magic.
Series This talk is part of the Engineering Department Geotechnical Research Seminars series.
