The Arcminute Microkelvin Imager: Studying Clusters of Galaxies using the Sunyaev-Zel’dovich Effect
- 👤 Speaker: Michel Schammel (Cavendish Astrophysics)

Abstract
The Arcminute Microkelvin Imager is Cambridge’s dual-array telescope, primarily focussing on the Sunyaev-Zel’dovich (SZ) effect associated with clusters of galaxies. Since the telescope’s commissioning, the AMI Consortium has studied an extensive amount of previously known clusters from different samples but has also been conducting a 10 square-degree blind SZ survey of previously, unchartered parts of the sky. In this talk, I will present some of our latest results and progress on the blind SZ survey as well as touch on other science projects, including the redshift-one cluster sample.
