Abstract
In this talk, I cover: tone, pace and rhythm; graphic story telling and the reader; voice, typeface and visual subplots.
Bio
Gillian McClure is both author and illustrator. Her first picture book was published in 1974. Since then she has been published by most of the main UK publishers and had her books translated into other languages. She has been Highly Commended in The Kate Greenaway Medal and won the US Parent’s Guide to Children’s Media Award for Outstanding Achievement in Children’s Books.In 2010 she started her own publishing company, Plaister Press in order to achieve greater creative autonomy.
