Abstract
This talk highlights examples of the most elegant attacks and defences in IT Security – those insights that leave you thinking for weeks ‘That’s clever’ and ‘I wish I’d thought of that’. Each uses simple steps in unexpected ways that appear obvious in hindsight but changed/are changing the face of IT Security. There will be no brute force or flooding denial of service attacks here. Some audience participation involved.
Stephen Bonner, Partner at KPMG and experienced security veteran, is giving his fantastic talk on Elegant Security, which featured at Security BSides 2012 among others. It is an excellent introduction for newcomers to the world of security and the mindset of how one must think, whilst still being interesting and highly informative for the technical expert.
Stephen’s plethora of experience, stemming from his roles at KPMG , Barclays, Virgin, and a series of other companies, makes him an indisputable authority on all cyber security matters. He has engaged with the field at every level, being well versed in policy and experienced in customer relations, alongside his technical expertise. Anyone wishing to learn more about any aspect of the area would be well advised to make the most of his visit.
