Abstract
Since Darwin, reconstructing the tree of life has been a major pursuit of biology. High-throughput sequencing of genomes is providing us with an abundance of molecular data, but we still struggle to resolve the deep phylogenies. In this review, I will discuss the main methodological challenges hampering progress in this high interest area.
The talk is part of the CCBI seminar series and the DTP graduate course Reviews in Computational Biology, but is open to all attendees.
Series This talk is part of the Computational and Systems Biology series.
