Abstract
The Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge is pleased to host a one-day colloquium, Feminist Classics Revisited, on Friday 17 May. This colloquium will be focused on Sex, Gender and Society by Ann Oakley. Beverley Skeggs (Goldsmiths), Jackie Scott (Cambridge), Marilyn Strathern (Cambridge), Sara Ahmed (Goldsmiths) and Ann Oakley (IOE, University of London) are confirmed speakers for this event, which will be chaired by Sarah Franklin. In preparation, participants are asked to reread this formative feminist text. The event is intended to allow reflections on both the recent history of feminist thought, and its contemporary manifestations, both within and outside the academy.
