Abstract
‘The talk explores narratives dealing with aspects of the social and the ecological in the Global South, asking how eco-criticism can be a voice of protest when state agendas ruthlessly remake nature and shift the boundary between the human and non-human. The focus is on literary narratives from the Global South, suggesting a need for new ways of reading both literary texts and of viewing the place of humans in nature.’
