Abstract
We present the mechanisms provided by the OCaml-Java project to allow seamless interoperability between the OCaml and Java languages. A tool generating Java class definitions allows to manipulate OCaml values from the Java language while retaining type safety. An extension of the OCaml type system allows to manipulate Java instances from an OCaml program.
We demonstrate on small example how these mechanisms allow to easily blend OCaml and Java code in a single codebase, and consider the encoding of Java types into OCaml types.
