- 📅 Date & Time: Wednesday 06 November 2013, 13:15 - 14:00
- 📍 Venue: Fitzwilliam Museum, Education Seminar Room (35)
Abstract
Join Dr. Tinios as he considers features of Japanese printed erotica of the Edo period (1603-1868) that distinguish it from its European counterparts. Leading Japanese artists imbued their erotic work with humour and joy, affirming the conviction that ‘making love is the prime glory and height of pleasure’. Guilt, shame and sin are alien to their representations of ‘the way of love’. FREE but space limited. Admission by token, available from 12.45 on day of talk.
