Abstract
Featuring an excerpt from the video of Nicholas Negroponte’s TED talk outlining the ambitious aims of the One Laptop Per Child programme, we look at how it worked out in practice using examples from South America and Africa.
This informal session will be led by Melissa Marsden who is conducting her PhD study on lessons learned from the OLPC pilot in Brazil, and her supervisor, Dr Sara Hennessy, who works with CCE on the OER4 Schools project and the effect use of appropriate technologies in sub-Saharan Africa.
