Abstract
Opened in June 2013 at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Cambridge, the exhibition ‘Chiefs & Governors: Art and Power in Fiji’ draws on the Museum’s exceptional historical collections of Fijian material. This paper reflects on the making of the exhibition and highlights the complex historical and contemporary relationships (between people collectors, curators and visitors) and objects (in the field, in the storage box and in the showcase).
