Abstract
Allan McRobie, Cambridge University Engineering Dept
Over a decade after the Cambridge experiments on human structure interaction, this talk revisits the field of wobbly bridges, looking at recent advances in understanding.
The approach taken considers the instructive parallels that exist between the dynamical processes of wind- and human-induced structural motions.
Allan McRobie is a Reader in Structural Engineering at Cambridge University. He has a background in the design of major civil structures, and his research interests include stability and dynamics.
Series This talk is part of the Engineering Department Structures Research Seminars series.
