Abstract
People making things together have always had to find ways of talking about the shapes that they wanted to make. Now that we have computers to render images of them, drive the machines that make them and run the analyses to check that those shapes will work, our stylists, designers and analysts need to have ways of talking about shapes to their computers.
Different methods become possible with different amounts of computing power, and the talk will mention four or five generations and why some methods got adopted and others not.
Series This talk is part of the Wednesday Seminars - Department of Computer Science and Technology series.
