Abstract
I am fascinated about the cell and I am in particular interested in how the cell divides. Cell division is a very important process that occurs in all organisms and is essential for life. Importantly, problems in the cell division lead to embryonic lethality and the development of cancer. When the cell undergoes a division, it uses a βspindleβ, a beautiful structure that physically separates the genetic material and distributes it equally into the two new daughter cells. I will talk about my research project, which focuses on understanding the formation of this vital structure and aims to provide new ideas for cancer therapies.
