Think museums are boring? Not this one. It’s about computing. Jason Fitzpatrick, curator of the city’s new Centre for Computing History, will talk about the fascinating machines in the collection from the Elliott 903 to the BBC Micro and the Apple Macintosh; about the untapped archives (Sinclair, Acorn) and computers waiting to be restored. The museum tells the story of the breathtaking innovations, people and systems that led to the gadgets in our pockets today. It’s in Cambridge (where else?). It integrates history with computer science and education. It makes the history of computing relevant. And it needs your help!
