Abstract
Bootstrap percolation is a cellular automaton used to describe the spread of an infection. I will talk about some very natural combinatorial questions arising from this model and how algebraic methods can be used to answer them. I’ll assume almost nothing in the way of background; the talk should be accessible to everyone.
