Abstract
Imagine being tasked to come up with a performance which stages your country’s past and national identity in one big spectacle that is going to be watched by nearly a billion viewers around the world. The final session of the Public and Popular History seminar will offer insights into such a challenge, when Frank Cottrell Boyce, the writer of the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London (“Isle of Wonder”) will give a talk entitled “A Dangerous Conversation: Staging British History” – this Wednesday, 5th March, at 5pm, in the Mong Hall, in Sidney Sussex College. Arrive early to secure a seat!
