Abstract
Though we are becoming surrounded by more and more devices, each generally operates in isolation, bombarding their owner with requests for attention. Instead, attentive interfaces treat user attention as a valuable resource, thus aiming to focus rather than distract the user. The first critical stage of an attentive interface is sensing attention, often measured as a user’s eye gaze. This proposal outlines my plans for achieving pervasive gaze estimation – the ability to seamlessly track where someone is looking over a large area, without inconveniencing them.
