Animals reduce uncertainty by acquiring information from personal experience and by observing others. My research goal is to determine how variation in use of these information sources influences others in their ecological communities. I’ll talk about recent (and some very recent) work looking at the importance of social information for evolutionary arms races between brood parasites and their hosts, and predators and their prey.
