Abstract
Plant innate immunity depends on a complex signaling network. Calmodulin binding proteins of the CBP60 family play important roles in this network. CBP60g and SARD1 have positive effects on immunity, promoting synthesis of an immunity hormone, salicylic acid (SA), and expression of many immunity-related genes. The function of CBP60g requires calmodulin binding, while SARD1 does not bind calmodulin. Curiously, CBP60a has a negative effect on immunity and SA levels.
