- đ¤ Speaker: Mr Iain King CBE, former Fellow, Wolfson College đ Website

- đ Venue: Combination Room, Wolfson College
Abstract
Iain King tracks the lives of six young men who served anonymously as soldiers in the frontline, and later went on to produce world-changing philosophies. From Ancient Greece to World War Two, battlefield heroics, horror, and hubris have all left traces in the ideas we associate with these great philosophers. The talk will elucidate their fascinating war records, consider how their experiences shaped their ideas, and explain the legacy for us today.
