Abstract
Niamh Tumelty is our engineering liberian in the Main Site. She is very kindly agreed to introduce the recent developments of open access in research community. Open Access to research publications involves making them freely available online rather than charging readers to read and use them. HEFCE ’s recent announcement makes it essential that all researchers are aware of and actively consider Open Access options for any articles they wish to submit for the next Research Evaluation Framework.
In this talk Niamh will clarify the differences between Green and Gold Open Access, consider the implications of HEFCE ’s announcement for members of IfM, highlight funding to support making articles freely available online and introduce the system that has been put in place to support Cambridge researchers in making their articles openly available.
Series This talk is part of the Manufacturing Research Forum series.
