Abstract
About the Series
A series of specially-commissioned 50-minute events to celebrate the first 50 years of Wolfson College. In the series, eleven distinguished members of the college reflect on developments in their fields of expertise in the half-century since Wolfson was founded.
About the Speaker
Dr Gordon Johnson was Wolfson’s fourth President.
About the event
Because this will take place during Alumni Weekend, a more informal format was chosen—an extended conversation between Dr Johnson and the Vice President on the state of Cambridge University in the years leading up to the foundation of the College. The aim is to explain what a remarkable development Wolfson was in the context of its time.
Series This talk is part of the Wolfson @ 50: Fiftieth Anniversary Lecture Series series.
